Adoption Process

  • If the dog or cat is under 6 months of age, we require follow-up vet care/spay or neuter – please plan on returning to the Portland tropolitan area for follow-up visits with our vet, if needed.
  • Bring your family with you to meet the dog or cat. We encourage you to bring in any other pets in the household for a meet & greet as well.
  • Landlord approval via phone or email is renting
Prior to applying for adoption, please read the description provided on who you’re applying for. The description will include any medical needs, behaviors (i.e. if they’re good if kids, other animals, etc.).
If we feel that you and the dog/cat are a good match, we will have you fill out our adoption application and our adoption contract, pay the adoption fee via cash, check, or credit card and take home your new fur baby that same day!

PUPPIES/KITTENS

Some puppies/kittens are not spayed/neutered prior to adoption due to their age and/or size. In this case, the spay/neuter appointment is pre-scheduled and included in the adoption contract. We pay for the spay/neuter so be sure this is a date that you can accommodate. In this instance, we collect a second check or visa draft of $650.00 to hold in our files. This check or draft will only be withdrawn IF the puppy/kitten does not show up for their spay/neuter appointment. This is our “insurance policy” that you will show up to the appointment and have your pet fixed. We will shred the check/bank draft once the puppy/kitten has been spayed/neutered.
